Why Why Why Is It?

Why is it that some rules are meant to be cages, chains and bondage?

The Chicago Tribune Company CEO Randy Michaels has issued a memo to the staff of the company’s flagship station WGN-AM (720) in Chicago Illinois USA officially banning 119 words from being used by staff and those interviewed on air. A few examples two of which seem to be inspired by a former president unmentioned.
“Flee” meaning “run away” “Good” or “bad” news “Laud” meaning “praise” “Seek” meaning “look for” “Some” meaning “about” Completely destroyed, completely abolished, completely finished or any other completely redundant use. Staff should NOT say "dubbaya" when the meaning is double you neither Eye Rack nor Eye Ran.

might be kind of funny (we could all be less sound-bitey) in an Onion sort of way, except the memo apparently also directed staff to “to report any on-air infractions by their co-workers, making sure to note the precise time and date on “bingo cards” he provided that contain a random assortment of Michaels’ forbidden words.” Not a joke. Though it would make for an epic George Carlin routine (his original ‘7 Words’ NSFW, routine is below).
Reminescent of Alfie Alfonzo Rupee or Lolita Delores Deneros saying,"S,F.P.GD" and using a few of the George Carlin "Forbidden Seven".

BTW George Clooney spoke of ,"The Oscars" and said that he did not think Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were funny. That's a truism as some people THOUGHT Steve Martin had ONE comedy line the entire L-O-N-G evening.
Too soon? Tonight on The Joy Behar Show, the View co-host discussed Dick Cheney’s recent hospitalization with Bill Maher, who didn’t waste any time or sympathy before calling the former VP a Soviet robot. Yikes!

The Republicans will make a case and a lot of independents will buy this argument. “Listen he just hasn’t been, look at the health care bill. It was his number one priority. It took him forever to get it through and he had to compromise it to death.” And a version of, “Listen he’s a nice person, he’s very articulate,” this is what’s been used against him, “but he couldn’t sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.”
Dan Rather, longtime anchor at the CBS Evening News and now of HD Net, has been known for his analogies and anecdotes (Ratherisms).

Newsbusters describes it as “one mine after another in the racial minefield,” which certainly appears to be the case, even if Rather isn’t making the argument directly. Still, substituting another fruit for the one he choose would have made this a non-story.

MSNBC’s Donny The Deutsch, got himself in trouble a March,2010 night on Joy Behar’s HLN show when he name-called Republican senatorial candidate Marco Rubio a coconut. As is true of several other slang terms "coconut" can mean someone who acts more “white” than their skin color, and of course, is an issue because Rubio comes from Cuban heritage. Which seems fairly innocent, but in the context of the statement, “Like, you know, this coconut Rubio down in Florida,” one could readily see how some people might start taking issue with Deutsch’s choice of words.
Then Deutsch picked up his phone and used his Twitter account, announcing “I said “coconut” meaning simple, goofy, bananas…wasn’t even aware it could be a racially charged word.” But Newsbusters.org researched over ten years back and discovered another instance when “coconut” was used as an offensive term to describe Henry Bonilla, and Democratic House candidate Victor Morales was forced to publicly apologize.
HMMM is it an honest mistake or a vicious racial swipe? Donny The Deutsch should be careful about mentioning bananas as well , or possibly just stay away from all fruit references in the future. Nevertheless, Donny The Deutsch should not wait more than 12 hours before issuing an explanation/apology, even for something as fiendly as this.

Eric Massa, the New York Democrat who resigned from the House in the wake of a House ethics inquiry into charges that he behaved inappropriately with several male staffers, admitted to Fox News' Glenn Beck Tuesday that he did grope a staffer.
"Yeah, I did," he said when asked if he had groped a staffer. "Not only did I grope him, I tickled him 'til he couldn't breathe and then four guys jumped on me. It was my 50th birthday."

Eric the Massa has recently charged that the White House forced him out because of his opposition to smelly rotten health care reform legislation, a charge White House press secretary has called patently "ridiculous" and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer reinterated as "absurd."
"This administration and this House leadership have said, quote-unquote, they will stop at nothing to pass this health care bill, and now they've gotten rid of me and it will pass," Eric Massa stated matter-of-factly.
He has accused White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel of shower intimidation and suggested Emanuel angrily approached him threateningly "buck naked in the shower" over an oppositional vote.
"Rahm Emanuel hates me," Massa told Beck.
Massa opined that lawmakers/lawbreakers are forced to continually raise money for their reelection, making the system "out of control." Massa suggested the situation is testamount to "bribery" in which votes are essentially bought and sold and complained of spending five hours per day "begging for money."
Massa gave Glenn Beck an x-ray for emphasis while discussing the recurrence of cancer that he has cited as one reason he is leaving office.
"I have completely abandoned my family for five years," Massa related while explaining his decision to resign, lamenting that he no longer possessed the "life energy" to remain in Congress.
Beck called the interview a total waste of time as he epologued his TV show.
Massa has become a synthetic conservative hero recently due in no small part to his claims about the White House and Congressional Democrats, perhaps a bit out of character because of his insidious, foul-smelling progressive beliefs. Rush Limbaugh has mentioned Eric Massa as a "national story" and The Drudge Report and many reporters have spotlighted his claim that Roml "Deadfish" Emanuel is "the devil's spawn" who "who would sell his mother to get a vote."
Eric Massa's resignation means the ethics committee will not bother to investigate his conduct which allegedly included "snorkeling" while in the U.S.Navy.

Approximately 80% of our air pollution stems from hydrocarbons released by vegetation, so let's not go overboard in setting and enforcing tough emission standards from man-made sources.
